Breathing into Belonging Meditation
Hello Friends, the following is a visualization-meditation that I learned a few years ago during my Shamanic apprenticeship called Channeling Mother Earth Energy. I love guiding participants in my retreats with this meditation to bring a relaxed awareness in the room and in the moment for healing and inner peace. Today as a world we are being affected and infected with the Coronavirus. I offer this meditation as a way to hold the Earth sacred and send out a message for all of life to know hope, balance and renewal.
Purpose: grounding, healing, balancing, belonging
Sit comfortably. Close your eyes. Relax your body completely. Place your hand on your belly and breath deeply until you feel your stomach expand into your hand. Repeat deep belly breathing 5 times. Place your attention on the base of your spine. Imagine there are cords of energy from your body growing from your spine through the floor and penetrating into the soft soil surface of mother earth. You can feel these cords traveling deeper and deeper, through layers and layers of rock and stones until you sense that you have reached the earth’s core, the heart of mother earth. Warmth from the earth’s core relaxes you like a sweet sauna. As you breathe feel that your breath is in rhythm with the heartbeat of mother earth. Stay here for a while experiencing a deep knowing in your soul that mother earth is comforting you. Say to yourself like a reassuring mantra: I am healthy. I am held with unconditional love. I belong here. I am at peace.
Now that you have united with earth’s nurturing energy, bring this merged awareness back with you through the layers and layers, closer and closer into you.. Allow the feeling of being grounded flow through your whole body as you take three final slow, deep breaths.
