Red is for Passion and Vibrancy!
“May the bright and colorful spirit of Christmas fill your soul with the gifts of love, passion, courage, hope, and excitement.” --Jeri Ross
Red was never my color. For years I avoided anything red be it clothing, jewelry or furniture. Then something miraculous happened. I began to notice how red was showing up more in my life like I was attracting it to me. Or the better way to say it would be as I worked on my soul-self learning how to live more from a place of self-love, compassion and fearlessness, I started to feel more, well, red-like. But I didn’t why.
I became curious about how colors have messages that can tell us something about our true, dynamic selves. My questioning took me to seek more information about the allure and magical influence of colors. I was fascinated to learn how Native Americans integrate the sacred symbolism of colors in their Medicine Wheel teachings. ‘Medicine’ inherent in the cycles of life reveals how to be in harmony with the primal energy of nature and the personal power within each of us as human-BEINGS of the Earth. I learned that red’s vibrancy is known to signify passionate love, a pioneering spirit, and vitality. Now I see how I’m being led by red. I’ve spent the past month with a ladder and hand trowel covering my dining room wall with three coats of venetian plaster in bolero red.
Intention: Being the Christmas season, red’s medicine is everywhere! As you walk around these December days let red ignite you. Be that loving, energized self that easily delights in the beauty and passion of life. Be led by red!
Ancient Celtic peoples revered red and green colored holly plants for being evergreen and keeping Earth beautiful during the dead of winter.
